Whitebeck Court Construction

Tuesday 16th March 2010

09.00-16.00

Whitebeck Court is a 16 storey tower block, 44.2 metres tall, located in Charlestown, Manchester and constructed in 1967 as part of Manchester Corporation community Housing.

Wates Living Space through the IMPACT Manchester Framework are transforming the existing vacant tower block into a mixed tenure extra care scheme with communal facilities.  The scheme will consist of 92 one and two bed apartments which will be available for rent through Northwards Housing.

The ground floor of the building will accommodate a range of communal facilities known as the “Community Hub”.  These facilities will be available to both people living in the scheme and will also serve the wider community.  There are a number of general needs tower blocks catering for the over 50 in close proximity that will benefit from this new development.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to experience the transformation of the vacant tower block using modern design with up to date construction methods and materials.
